Ashley Wilson Clark is a capable and seasoned litigator with trial and appellate experience in both state and federal court. Ashley’s practice at Buckley Beal is focused on employment and civil rights litigation, commercial litigation, and business disputes. Her experience includes representing clients in claims for workplace discrimination, retaliation and sexual harassment, whistleblower retaliation (including reporting violations of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934), counseling clients on issues related to their employment agreements, and representing individuals before the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the U.S. Department of Labor.

Prior to joining Buckley Beal, Ashley represented individuals, businesses, and governmental entities in a wide range of civil matters including D&O litigation, contract disputes, insurance coverage, complex torts, professional malpractice, employment litigation, and civil rights claims. Most notably, Ashley was part of a trial team that obtained a $5 million jury verdict on behalf of a court-appointed receiver for a failed community bank in an action for bank director and officer negligence and breach of fiduciary duty. She was named to Atlanta Magazine’s Super Lawyers “Rising Star” list in 2017 for business litigation. Earlier in her career, Ashley practiced criminal law in Henry County, Georgia, representing indigent clients as first chair defense counsel in numerous jury trials.

Before becoming a member of the State Bar of Georgia, Ashley completed legal and research internships at Atlanta Legal Aid, the Office of the Attorney General of Georgia, the William J. Clinton Foundation, and Amnesty International. She subsequently worked at the top investor relations firm Joele Frank, Wilkinson Brimmer Katcher in New York City, where she provided strategic and financial communications counsel and support to publicly-traded companies across a wide range of industries.

Ashley received her law degree from the University of Richmond School of Law, where she was named to the Negotiation Board, and was chosen by faculty to represent the school in regional competitions for both moot court and negotiation. Additionally, while in law school, Ashley completed studies in international and comparative law at Cambridge University, England. Ashley is a cum laude graduate of the University of Georgia, where she studied political science and religion.

When she is not practicing law, Ashley is active in Atlanta’s legal community as an elected member of the Board of Directors of the Atlanta Bar Association, and as a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association and the Lawyers Club of Atlanta. She also serves on the production team for the Atlanta Bar Association’s Bard Show (an all-lawyer comedy musical parody) and performs in the shows. Ashley enjoys spending time with her family and friends, patronizing the arts, improving her golf swing, and cheering for Georgia football.

Ashley is admitted to practice before all Georgia state courts, the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
