Andrew Tate

Associate

Andrew Tate is a devoted advocate for all employees and driven by the creed that “injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” Andrew primarily practices in federal courts, litigating cases across a broad spectrum of employment matters, including racial discrimination, sex-based discrimination, and retaliation. Andrew is a member of the Georgia State Bar and admitted to practice in the federal district courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia.

A native of Atlanta, Andrew holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Juris Doctor, both from Emory University, and attended Holy Innocents Episcopal School, where he performed in numerous plays. At Emory Law, he competed on the school’s ABA Negotiation Team, served on the Student Bar Association, and interned for the late Chief Justice P. Harris Hines of the Supreme Court of Georgia.

Before joining Buckley Beal, in addition to employment cases, Andrew litigated cases involving excessive force, unreasonable search and seizure, cruel and unusual punishment, due process violations, and medical malpractice in correctional settings, as well as cases that successfully fought the Trump Administration’s family separation practices at the U.S.-Mexico border, reuniting numerous families as a result.

Andrew is active in numerous civic activities across Atlanta and serves on the board of a small non-profit organization that connects Georgians to the political process through the arts. When he is not working, Andrew is creating memories with his family and hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
