Amy B. Cheng
Amy B. Cheng focuses her practice on commercial and general litigation
in state and federal courts of Georgia. Her practice specializes in handling
commercial claims including but not limited to, shareholder disputes,
fiduciary duty claims, claims of professional negligence, and all disputes
that arise from the ownership of a closely held company. Amy’s experience
includes handling all aspects of litigation, including initial motion
practice, the discovery process, and drafting dispositive motions.
Prior to joining Buckley Beal, Amy attended Emory University, where she
obtained a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology and a minor in comparative
literature. Before going to complete her Master’s In Public Health
at University of South Carolina, Amy worked at Emory School of Medicine.
Having fallen in love with policy, she applied to law school and graduated
from Emory School of Law. During her time at Emory Law, she served as
managing editor for the
Emory International Law Review. She also interned with Department of Labor, Centers for Disease and Control,
Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, and Georgia Supreme Court. In
2015, Amy was awarded Georgia Association for Women Lawyer’s Outstanding
Law Student Award.
Amy is a native of Charleston, South Carolina but now calls Atlanta home.
On the weekends, she enjoys walking the Atlanta Beltline, hanging out
with friends, hiking, and trying new restaurants.
